AM2NTD is pleased to announce a five-day capacity building workshop on mathematical modeling for NTDs, to be held in Dakar, Senegal from June 12-16, 2025. The workshop will bring together researchers, program managers, and health officials from across West Africa to develop practical skills in developing and applying mathematical models for NTD control and elimination programs.
The workshop will cover:
- Fundamentals of mathematical modeling for infectious diseases
- Practical applications for NTD program planning
- Hands-on training with open-source modeling tools
- Data requirements and collection strategies
- Communicating modeling results to policymakers
"This workshop represents our commitment to building sustainable modeling capacity within Africa," said Dr. Amadou Diallo, AM2NTD Training Coordinator. "Participants will not only learn technical skills but also develop a network of peers working on similar challenges across the region."
The workshop is open to applicants from research institutions, universities, and NTD programs throughout West Africa. Priority will be given to early and mid-career professionals who can demonstrate how they will apply the training to ongoing work in NTD control.
Applications are open until May 15, 2025. Funding is available to cover travel and accommodation for selected participants. For more information and to apply, please visit our workshop page or contact training@am2ntd.org.
