AM2NTD network expands with five new institutional partners

AM2NTD is proud to announce the expansion of our network with the addition of five new institutional partners from across Africa. This growth significantly enhances our capacity to conduct collaborative research and implement modeling approaches for NTD control and elimination.

The new partner institutions are:

  • Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID), Cameroon
  • Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, Ghana
  • National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR), Tanzania
  • Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC), Uganda
  • Zambia National Public Health Institute

"The expansion of our network represents a significant milestone in building a truly continent-wide approach to NTD modeling," said Prof. Elizabeth Odhiambo, Director of AM2NTD. "Each of these institutions brings unique expertise and regional perspective that will strengthen our collective work."

Representatives from the new partner institutions will participate in a network integration workshop in Nairobi next month, where they will develop collaborative research proposals and formalize their roles within ongoing AM2NTD projects.

With these additions, the AM2NTD network now encompasses 18 institutions across 12 African countries, creating one of the continent's most extensive research networks focused on NTDs. This expansion aligns with AM2NTD's strategic goal of promoting South-South collaboration and building sustainable modeling capacity throughout Africa.
