In January, Infectious Diseases PhD fellow Joy Kalekye was highly-lauded at the International Conference for Research on NTDS (InCORNTD), upon presenting her poster, titled “Impact of Mass Drug Administration (MDA) Disruption on the Control and Elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases Targeted for Elimination by 2030: A Systematic Review”, gaining critical acclaim.
Kalekye highlighted how disruptions to MDA programs often result in delays or postponements, hindering elimination efforts. She emphasized the need to understand the impact of such disruptions to inform the implementation of evidence-based interventions.
